What comes to mind are the same old blind date nightmares. Either your gay friends set you up with their exes (s/he really isn’t a stalker, you know) and well meaning straight friends set you up with the only gay person they know (that weird person down the hall that has the fly-away hair, mumbles to themselves and twitches) because they felt sorry for you. You have images running through your mind of going to the movies while watching the couple in front of you make out instead of what’s on the movie screen. Plus your date is two seats away and hoarding the popcorn. Take heart, there is help out there! With dating websites such as GAY.COM If your first questions are ‘Where do I start?’, ‘What do I look for?’ and ‘Where do I meet that special someone?’ these websites will have a fill-in-the-blank questionnaire where you place your personal information (name, city, state, e-mail address) at the beginning. You will also get to choose a member name or user id. Be careful in choosing this piece of information, for this is the first thing that others will notice about you. Think about the overall impression you want to give; it’s your calling card.
